According to the preliminary data of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 9 months of 2024, GDP of the Republic of Uzbekistan in current prices amounted to UZS 1,015,331.8 billion and increased in real terms by 6.6% compared to January-September 2023. The index-deflator of GDP in relation to the prices of January-September 2023 amounted to 113.1%.
When calculated in USD at the average exchange rate for the reporting period, the nominal GDP amounted to USD 80,614.8 million. The nominal GDP amounted to US$ 80,614.8 million.
In January-September 2024, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors contributed positively to GDP growth by 0.7 pp, industry by 1.6 pp, construction by 0.7 pp and services by 3.3 pp. Due to the increase in net taxes on products, GDP increased by 0.3 pp.
Gross value added created by all sectors of the economy amounted to 95.4% of the total GDP and increased by 6.6% (contribution to GDP growth – 6.3 percentage points). Net taxes on products in the structure of GDP amounted to 4.6% and, compared to January-September 2023, they increased by 6.6% (contribution to GDP growth – 0.3 p.p.).
According to the results of January-September 2024, insignificant changes were observed in the sectoral structure of GDP. Thus, the share of services in the sectoral structure of GDP (GVA) increased from 46.5% to 47.2%, industry – from 24.7% to 26.2%, while the share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries decreased from 21.2% to 19.4%, construction – from 7.6% to 7.2%.
In January-September 2024, GDP per capita in current prices amounted to UZS 27,384.0 thousand (or the equivalent of USD 2,174.2). The growth of GDP per capita in real terms, compared to January-September 2023 amounted to 4.4%, and compared to January-September 2020 19.7%.
