The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will provide $670 million to support reforms and the development of an inclusive market economy in Uzbekistan.

The funds will be received by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Economy and Finance will support the Government of the Uzbekistan in shaping markets, improving fiscal risk management, supporting social integration and environmental sustainability.

It is expected that the initiatives will improve the efficiency of the republic’s healthcare system and government services.

The World Bank will also provide financial support to the Project, the AIIB emphasized.

The AIIB began its work in 2016 with headquarters in Beijing. The bank’s capitalization is $100 billion.
