(English) On August 3 this year, the Forum of Heads of Regions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries began its work in Tashkent. The event is held within the framework of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the organization and is intended to become a permanent dialogue platform for deepening interregional cooperation in a number of priority areas.

(English) In January-June 2022, the volume of imports to Uzbekistan increased by 27.4% compared to the corresponding period last year. According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first half of the year, the country imported $14.560 billion worth of goods and services.

(English) A consortium of international banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Citi, Societe Generale and Credit Suisse, provided NMMC with a $1.2 billion loan to implement the investment program.

(English) The Decree of the President “On measures to further improve the procedure for conducting an examination of pre-project documentation for investment and infrastructure projects, procurement documentation for a tender, terms of reference for public procurement and contracts” (No. 332 of July 25, 2022) was adopted.

(English) The countries of Central Asia need to develop common approaches to the formation of the Central Asian space of industrial localization and import substitution based on national industrial development programs. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the IV Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

(English) In June, the foreign exchange part of Uzbekistan’s international reserves increased by $157.5 million, and the gold part by $39.8 million. The Central Bank has published information on the international reserves of Uzbekistan.
