On September 27, 2022, an event dedicated to “World Tourism Day” was held in the Congress Hall of the “Silk Road Samarkand” international tourist center.

The event was attended by representatives of state organizations, diplomatic corps, tourism organizations, businessmen, artists, students of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and representatives of mass media.

The event was opened by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abduhakimov with his speech and the Government of Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid special attention to the development of the tourism sector. and emphasized that “World Tourism Day” is important for our country.

“I am sure that this event will be a strong impetus for the start of new achievements in the field of tourism, and will also serve to further increase the reputation of Uzbekistan as one of the best and safest tourist destinations at the international level”, – he said.

The minister also spoke about the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

“At the moment, it has modern teaching laboratories, equipped with modern sports facilities, trainings are conducted by professors and teachers of international class, has a large library fund, and quality education of students. A “smart” university has been created that combines all the conditions for”.

It should be noted that the Government of Uzbekistan allocates 85 quotas annually to foreign students to study in the master’s program of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. In the 2022/2023 academic year, several foreign students became grant holders and got the opportunity to study at the university.

At the event, Aziz Abduhakimov wished good luck to these students:

It should be noted that in order to encourage achievements in the field of tourism, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 433 dated July 10, 2020, the regulation on the procedure for awarding representatives of the tourism industry with the “Turizm fidoiysi” award was approved. At the event, 47 laureates of “Turizm fidoiysi“ including art and culture figures, representatives of the tourism industry, state and international organizations, entrepreneurs and media workers, who traditionally contributed to the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, were presented. was awarded the krak badge. Aziz Abduhakimov ceremoniously presented the badge to its owners.

It should be noted that among the recipients of the Turizm fidoyisi award is the CEO of INVEXI LLC Batirjon Utkirovich Nurullaev.
