The Asian Development Bank will allocate $3.5 billion to Uzbekistan

On May 4-5, the 57th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was held in Tbilisi. The event, held under the slogan “Bridge to the Future,” was attended by a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev.

During the meeting, a Memorandum was signed between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank regarding the implementation of the Program for 2025-2027 totaling 3.5 billion US dollars.

The program includes projects of mutual interest to both parties and correlates with the Development Strategy “Uzbekistan – 2030”.

Uzbekistan became a member of the Asian Development Bank in 1995.

The Asian Development Bank representation in Uzbekistan was established in 1998.

The total amount of funds provided by the Asian Development Bank to Uzbekistan’s sovereign portfolio has reached $12 billion.

In 2023, the Asian Development Bank allocated 6 loans and 1 grant to Uzbekistan for 4 sovereign projects and 2 programs.
