Consumer Price Index in Uzbekistan for June 2025

According to the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Statistics, the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) in June 2025 stood at 108.7%, down by 1.9% from June 2024 (110.6%). The monthly CPI was 99.8%, while the cumulative CPI for the first half of 2025 reached 104.2%, which is 1.0% lower than the same period in 2024 (105.2%).

Key CPI Indicators for June 2025

  • Food Products: The annual CPI for food products increased by 2.5% compared to June 2024, reaching 106.9% (from 104.4%). Monthly prices decreased by 1.2%, primarily due to seasonal declines in fruit and vegetable prices: fruits and nuts (-3.3%), vegetables, tubers, and pulses (-10.2%). Significant price reductions were observed for eggplants (-51.6%), tomatoes (-46.6%), bell peppers (-38.0%), cucumbers (-30.9%), watermelons (-26.8%), cabbage (-23.0%), garlic (-10.5%), and carrots (-12.4%). Conversely, citrus fruits rose by 13.8–36.2%, poultry meat by 1.6–1.8%, and eggs by 5.3%.

  • Non-Food Products: The annual CPI for non-food products was 107.5%, a 0.4% decrease from June 2024 (107.9%). Monthly prices increased by 0.2%, with notable growth in clothing and footwear (+0.2%).

  • Services: The annual CPI for services reached 115.8%, down by 12.1% from June 2024 (127.9%). The liberalization of utility tariffs remained the primary driver of price increases. Monthly service tariffs rose by 0.8%, including housing services (+6.1% in some regions), transportation (+0.3%), and restaurants (+0.9%).

The monthly CPI for June 2025 ranged from 98.8% (“Food and non-alcoholic beverages”) to 101.0% (“Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels”). Below the overall monthly CPI (99.8%), values were recorded for “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” (98.8%) and “Insurance and financial services” (99.2%). The CPI relative to December 2024 ranged from 99.4% (“Insurance and financial services”) to 113.2% (“Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels”). The annual CPI for June 2025 varied from 100.6% (“Insurance and financial services”) to 115.6% (“Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels”).

Regional Variations

The highest monthly CPI growth was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (101.7%), Fergana (102.2%), and Khorezm (101.9%) regions. Annual inflation rates exceeding the national average were observed in Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Fergana, Khorezm regions, and the city of Tashkent.
