Economic Activity in Uzbekistan in January 2025

According to official data, Uzbekistan’s economy maintained positive momentum in January 2025. Growth was observed in key sectors such as industry, construction, services, and foreign trade.

Industry and Services

  • The industrial production volume index in January 2025 was 104.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
  • The volume of market services increased by 11.4%, indicating an expanding services sector and rising consumer activity.

Construction Sector

  • The volume of construction work in January 2025 grew by 17.9%, reflecting continued infrastructure, housing, and commercial development projects.

Foreign Trade

  • The total foreign trade turnover increased by 4.4%.
  • Exports rose by 3.5%, while imports grew by 7.1%.
  • Notably, exports saw a sharp increase of 114.1%, highlighting Uzbekistan’s stronger position in international markets.

  • As of February 1, 2025, the number of registered small business entities reached 653,843.
  • The number of active enterprises and organizations totaled 729,055.

  • The consumer price index (CPI) for January 2025 stood at 100.6%, reflecting a low inflation rate and stable prices for goods and services.
