Tashkent hosted the 2nd International PLUS-Forum “BANKS AND RETAIL. Digital transformation and interaction”.
Uzbekistan is today the country with the most dynamically developing economy. It is no coincidence that the second forum was held in Tashkent. The main goal of the Forum is to assist the development of Uzbekistan and its economy.
For the second time, the venue for the international PLUS-forum “Banks and Retail. Digital Transformation and Interaction” becomes the capital of Uzbekistan, the republic with the most dynamically developing economy in the region. For two days, the Tashkent International Hotel has become the main platform in the Central Asian region for productive business communication between financial market participants and professional experts – fintech and retail headliners.
The PLUS-Forum, held with the support of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, gathered more than 1.5 thousand delegates from 51 countries of the world. More than 150 experts representing various international and regional companies spoke at panel sessions and round tables. The exhibition, which was held within the framework of the forum, was attended by 79 companies that acted as partners and sponsors of the PLUS-Forum. Their stands presented innovative technologies in fintech, banking, public sector services and retail.
Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, member of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilhomjon Abdugafarov noted in his speech: “The success of last year’s PLUS-Forum made it possible to expand the theme of the event this year, as well as invite more participants.”
Visa was the title sponsor of the PLUS-Forum. Kristina Dorosh, Vice President, Regional Manager for Visa in Central Asia and Azerbaijan, in her speech emphasized: “This forum creates a platform that allows you to discuss what is happening, see more details of what companies are doing.”
As part of the forum, the key national payment operator of the Republic of Uzbekistan UZCARD and the leading supplier of high-tech solutions for business digitalization, Innotech Group, held a Demo Day event dedicated to summing up the results of the Startup Bridge acceleration program.
Michael Ruckman, an international practicing expert on business development and transformation in the banking and retail sectors, held his Master Class on the topic “Difficulties and imperatives of leadership in the digital age” at the forum in the format of a business breakfast.
According to numerous feedback from the participants, the PLUS-Forum, which ended in Tashkent, has become an extremely useful and meaningful platform for professional communication, which will undoubtedly serve as a new impetus for the development of innovations and promising international projects in Uzbekistan.
