On April 17, 2025, Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Kanokpan Lao-Araya, Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Resident Mission in Uzbekistan.
The discussions focused on the implementation of both ongoing and prospective projects within ADB’s current portfolio, which includes 60 projects valued at $9.5 billion.
The ADB reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Uzbekistan’s development agenda and expressed readiness to finance 12 new projects in key sectors such as education, water supply, transport, and direct private sector support.
During the meeting, the parties also reached an agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Uzbekistan and the ADB for the period 2026–2028. The memorandum outlines the planned implementation of 28 new projects totaling $4.2 billion.
