As of December 9, 2022, the permanent population of Uzbekistan exceeded 36 million people, according the State Statistics Committee reports.

Of these: 18.1 million males (50.3%) and 17.9 million females (49.7%).

As of January 1, 2022, 35.27 million people lived in the republic. Compared with the beginning of the year, the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan has grown by more than 2% or almost 730 thousand people.

By the number of inhabitants, the Republic of Uzbekistan ranks 41st in the world.
