Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the results of work on the diversification of transport corridors from Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the President.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of exports has reached $8.2 billion, showing an increase of 1.3 times compared to last year. Uzbek companies have launched the supply of products to 32 new markets, the presentation noted.
The number of exporters exceeded 7500 companies. For seven months, the state provided them with 170 billion soums of subsidies for the transportation of goods – for example, compensation for suppliers of goods to Europe has been increased to 70% of their expenses.
Now the main part of export products from Uzbekistan is supplied to world markets through nine transport corridors.
The development of the transport sector and reducing the cost of transportation is of great importance for the competitiveness of the economy, the President noted. In this regard, the Ministry of Transport was instructed to work out new optimal routes for business.
At the presentation, it was proposed to establish companies for road freight transportation together with Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
The task was outlined to obtain additional permits for the supply of goods to the EU. In addition, the head of state gave instructions on using car building capabilities to increase rail traffic.
