Uzbekistan together with KOICA plan to launch projects worth $300 mln.

On September 9 this year, Laziz Kudratov – Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Chang Won Sam, President of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

During the meeting, the parties noted the positive dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation with the Republic of Korea, which is one of the major foreign policy and foreign economic partners of Uzbekistan.

The sides stressed KOICA’s contribution to the development of education, public administration, medicine, digitalization of Uzbekistan, in which more than 40 projects and programs worth more than $250 million have been implemented.

At the same time, the sides agreed on specific directions for further enhancing cooperation, including joint events in the country’s regions, implementation of infrastructure and socially significant regional development projects, as well as attracting consulting and technical assistance for projects to improve export and investment policy management mechanisms in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and KOICA, which includes 29 promising projects with a total value of $300 million in the areas of digitalization of public administration, combating climate change and development of education.
