Gross Regional Product (GRP) of Uzbekistan for 2024

The Gross Regional Product (GRP) is a key indicator reflecting the economic development of Uzbekistan’s regions. In 2024, Uzbekistan’s total Gross Regional Product (GRP) amounted to 1,270,020.8 billion UZS, showing a significant increase compared to the previous year and highlighting the country’s stable economic growth. This analysis is based on the official report of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and includes each region’s contribution to the GDP as well as key sectoral indicators.

The role of small businesses in the overall economy is particularly impressive. Nationwide, their share reached 54.3%, while in regions like Surkhandarya (77.8%) and Jizzakh (74.5%), it achieved record levels.

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KARAKALPAKSTAN

According to preliminary data, the GRP of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for 2024 increased by 6.3 % and amounted to 45 658.5 billion soums. The growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the regional economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 103.6 % (share in the GRP structure – 23.5 %), industry – 106.8 % (20.5 %), construction – 107.4 % (8.0 %) and the service sector – 107.3 % (48.0 %). GRP per capita increased by 4.9 % and amounted to 22 645.8 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF ANDIJAN REGION

The GRP of Andijan region in current prices amounted to 90 522.1 billion soums and, compared to 2023, increased in real terms by 6.6 %. Positive growth rates were noted in the following main sectors: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 103.1 % (share in the GRP structure – 31.0 %), industry – 107.3 % (28.8 %), construction – 111.0 % (5.9 %) and services – 108.6 % (34.3 %). GRP per capita amounted to 26 409.0 thousand soums and, compared to 2023, increased by 4.4 %.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF BUKHARA REGION

The GRP of the Bukhara region amounted to 71 560,4 billion soums and, compared to 2023, increased by 6.6 %. The growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 102.7 % (share in the GRP structure – 35.0 %), industry – 106.4 % (19.9 %), construction – 114.9 % (9.9 %) and services – 108.6 % (35.2 %). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 4.8 % and amounted to 34 729,6 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF JIZZAKH REGION

The GRP growth of Jizzakh region amounted to 5.3 % and reached 43 057,9 billion soums. In the sectoral structure of GRP, the growth rates were: agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 101.3 % (share in the GRP structure – 40.5 %), industry – 107.2 % (17.3 %), construction – 107.8 % (6.2 %) and the service sector – 109.0 % (36.0 %). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 3.1 % and amounted to 28 281,0 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF KASHKADARYA REGION

The GRP of Kashkadarya region amounted to 80 658,3 billion soums and increased by 6.5 % compared to 2023. Positive growth rates were recorded in the following key sectors: agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 104.2 % (share in the GRP structure – 32.7 %), industry – 108.0 % (17.7 %), construction – 112.1 % (8.0 %) and services – 106.8 % (41.6 %). GRP per capita increased by 4.2 % and amounted to 22 405,1 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF NAVOI REGION

The GRP of Navoi region reached 117 297,8 billion soums and increased by 7.7 %. The growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the regional economy. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the growth rates reached 103.8 % (share in the GRP structure is 10.7 %), industry – 108.2 % (72.1 %), construction – 113.9 % (4.2 %) and the service sector – 106.9 % (13.0 %). GRP per capita increased by 5.8 % and amounted to 108 108,6 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF NAMANGAN REGION

The GRP of Namangan region amounted to 68 915.7 billion soums, which is 7.6 % higher than the data for 2023. The growth rate of GRP is due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 104.3 % (share in the GRP structure – 29.8 %), industry – 108.3 % (16.7 %), construction – 112.8 % (8.0 %) and the service sector – 108.8 % (45.5 %). GRP per capita increased by 5.3 % and amounted to 22 238,7 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF SAMARKAND REGION

The GRP of the Samarkand region amounted to 99 866,1 billion soums and increased by 6.9 % compared to 2023. The region showed positive growth rates in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors – 102.7 % (share in the GRP structure – 32.5 %), industry – 107.6 % (16.7 %), construction – 111.7 % (5.9 %) and services – 109.2 % (44.9 %). GRP per capita increased by 4.6 % and amounted to 23 481,3 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF SURKHANDARYA REGION

In Surkhandarya region, GRP increased by 5.9 % and amounted to 54 354,1 billion soums. The factors of GRP growth were the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 103.2 % (share in the GRP structure – 39.1 %), industry – 108.9 % (9.6 %), construction – 108.8 % (9.4 %) and the service sector – 107.4 % (41.9 %). GRP per capita amounted to 18 670,0 thousand soums and increased by 3.4 %.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF SYRDARYA REGION

The GRP of Syrdarya region amounted to 28 003,3 billion soums and increased by 4.5 % compared to 2023. The region showed positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 101.7 % (share in the GRP structure – 32.6 %), industry – 106.9 % (27.3 %), construction – 100.3 % (7.6 %) and services – 106.9 % (32.5 %). GRP per capita increased by 2.6 % and amounted to 30 359,2 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF TASHKENT REGION

The GRP of Tashkent region amounted to 146 385,2 billion soums with an increase of 6.7 %. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 101.5 % (share in the GRP structure – 17.7 %), industry – 106.9 % (44.5 %), construction – 110.1 % (7.2 %) and services – 109.3 % (30.6 %). Compared to 2023, GRP per capita in real terms increased by 4.7 % and amounted to 47 526,1 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF FERGANA REGION

In Fergana region, the GRP volume increased by 6.8 % and amounted to 91 333,0 billion soums. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the growth rate reached 104.9 % (share in the GRP structure – 28.2 %), industry – 107.6 % (19.8 %), construction – 108.5 % (7.3 %) and the service sector – 107.3 % (44.7 %). GRP per capita amounted to 22 259,5 thousand soums and increased by 4.6 %.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF KHOREZM REGION

The GRP of the Khorezm region increased by 6.4 % and amounted to 51 261,0 billion soums. The growth of the GRP is due to the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 103.0 % (share in the GRP structure – 34.8 %), industry – 108.2 % (16.0 %), construction – 111.4 % (8.9 %) and the service sector – 107.8 % (40.3 %). The GRP per capita increased by 4.4 % and amounted to 25 452,4 thousand soums.

 

GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT OF TASHKENT CITY

The GRP of Tashkent city amounted to 281 147.4 billion soums and increased by 10.4 % compared to 2023. The growth factors for GRP were the growth rates in industry – 108.1 % (share in the GRP structure – 27.8 %), construction – 109.9 % (9.2 %) and the service sector – 111.5 % (63.0 %). GRP per capita amounted to 91 376.6 thousand soums and increased by 7.6 %.

 

Thus, the total GRP volume of Uzbekistan in 2024 confirms the stable economic growth of the country. Tashkent City remains the leader in contributing to the national economy (19.3%), followed by Tashkent and Navoi regions, which occupy second and third places, respectively. Regional development shows positive dynamics thanks to active growth in industry, agriculture, and services.

Uzbekistan’s economic growth in 2024 demonstrates positive changes across all regions. Balanced development in industry, agriculture, construction, and services confirms the stability of the country’s economic policies.
