Retail Trade Turnover

As of March 1, 2025, the number of commercial enterprises operating in the retail trade sector reached 82,504 units, including 370 large active enterprises and 82,134 small enterprises and microfirms.

In January–February 2025, the retail trade turnover amounted to 57,100.1 billion UZS, showing an increase of 110.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

Specifically:

• Turnover of large enterprises totaled 9,688.4 billion UZS (growth rate – 109.7%),
• Turnover of small businesses and private entrepreneurs reached 41,526.5 billion UZS (growth rate – 109.5%),
• Turnover from unorganized trade amounted to 5,885.2 billion UZS (growth rate – 116.0%).

Wholesale Trade Turnover

As of March 1, 2025, the number of commercial enterprises engaged in wholesale trade stood at 46,477 units, of which 393 were large enterprises, and 46,084 were small enterprises and microfirms.

According to preliminary data, in January–February 2025, the wholesale trade turnover reached 63,177.6 billion UZS, an increase of 12.3% compared to the same period in 2024.

Turnover of small business entities in wholesale trade amounted to 46,819.8 billion UZS, showing a growth of 108.2% year-on-year. Their share in the total wholesale trade volume of the republic was 74.1%.

The highest growth rates in wholesale trade turnover of large enterprises compared to January–February 2024 were observed in:

• Syrdarya region – 6.7 times,
• Jizzakh region – 2.9 times,
• Navoi region – 195.1%,
• Tashkent region – 190.6%,
• Bukhara region – 174.7%.

Catering (Food Services) Turnover

As of March 1, 2025, the number of commercial enterprises operating in the public catering sector totaled 23,990 units, including 90 large enterprises and 23,900 small enterprises and microfirms.

In January–February 2025, the turnover of public catering enterprises reached 26,546.3 billion UZS, increasing by 111.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Small business entities accounted for 83.5% of the total turnover in this sector.
