According to the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 6.6 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourist purposes in 2023.

The travel goals of foreign citizens who came to Uzbekistan in 2023 are as follows:

• for the purpose of visiting relatives – 5.6 million people
• for recreation purposes – 773.2 thousand people
• on business trips – 143.5 thousand people
• for commercial purposes – 70.4 thousand people
• for the purpose of treatment – 61.3 thousand people
• for the purpose of study – 16.8 thousand people.

Of these, 773.2 thousand citizens of the following countries visited Uzbekistan for recreation purposes:

• Russia – 235.3 thousand people;
• Kazakhstan – 63.4 thousand people;
• Kyrgyz Republic – 43.8 thousand people;
• Tajikistan – 43.4 thousand people;
• Turkey – 38.3 thousand people;
• China – 35.6 thousand people;
• Turkmenistan – 32.2 thousand people;
• India – 27.1 thousand people;
• Germany – 22.8 thousand people;
• Italy – 22 thousand people;
• other countries – 209.4 thousand people.
