According to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the aggregate income of the population in January-December 2025 demonstrates strong positive growth dynamics.
General Indicators of Income Growth
The total volume of the aggregate income of the population of Uzbekistan for 2025 reached 1,134.3 trillion UZS (approximately 90.2 billion USD). Adjusted for inflation via the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the real growth rate of aggregate income was 109.2% compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a steady increase in the welfare of citizens.
The aggregate income per capita amounted to 29.9 million UZS (approximately 2,378 USD), showing a real growth of 107.2%. The discrepancy between total income growth (109.2%) and per capita income growth (107.2%) is attributed to the country’s demographic growth—as the population increases, the total aggregate income grows faster than the per capita figure.
Regional Income Differentiation
Analysis of regional indicators reveals positive trends across various regions of the republic. The highest levels of per capita income were recorded in Tashkent City (73,910.5 thousand UZS or approx. 5,878 USD) and the Navoi Region (44,694.2 thousand UZS or approx. 3,555 USD), driven by the concentration of industrial production and high-paying jobs.
Regions with the most dynamic income growth deserve special mention. The leader in real per capita aggregate income growth was the Fergana Region at 114.8%, followed by the Khorezm Region (108.7%), Tashkent City (108.5%), and the Kashkadarya Region (108.5%). These figures reflect active regional economic development and the effectiveness of implemented programs to increase public income.
Income Structure: Diversification of Sources
The structure of aggregate income is characterized by diversified revenue streams. The share of income from labor activities (including employees and self-employment) accounted for 60.4% of the total volume, confirming the population’s active involvement in economic activity.
Incomes of employees, comprising 26.4% of the aggregate income structure, showed a nominal growth of 120.3%, contributing a 5.3% increase to total nominal income. This reflects positive dynamics in the formal employment sector and rising wages.
Self-employment plays a significant role, accounting for 34.0% of income. The growth rate of these incomes reached 116.2%, adding 5.6% to the overall nominal growth. The share of self-employment is particularly high in the Jizzakh Region (51.6%), Tashkent Region, and Bukhara Region (43.9% each).
The Role of Small Entrepreneurship
Small entrepreneurship remains a vital driver of public income. Its share in the aggregate income structure was 58.0%, highlighting the key role of small businesses in ensuring citizen welfare. In several regions, this figure is even higher: Jizzakh – 66.6%, Bukhara – 64.2%, and Tashkent Region – 63.5%. This demonstrates a successful entrepreneurial environment and the effectiveness of state support measures.
Social Support and Transfers
Income from transfers accounts for 29.6% of total aggregate income, showing a nominal growth of 123.2%. This is the highest growth rate among all income components, showcasing strengthened state social support. Within the transfer structure, 83.8% comes from pensions, 14.4% from benefits, and 1.8% from scholarships.
Notably, international remittances constitute 21.0% of the population’s aggregate income. The highest dependence on international transfers is observed in the Fergana (32.5%), Khorezm (31.1%), and Andijan (30.0%) regions, reflecting high levels of labor migration from these areas.
Conclusion
Data for 2025 indicates positive growth dynamics in the income of Uzbekistan’s population, with a real increase of 9.2%. A diversified income structure, active development of small businesses, rising wages, and enhanced social support provide a solid foundation for further improving living standards. Regional variations in growth rates highlight the need for continued targeted measures for the balanced development of all provinces.
