The National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has presented a report on the consumer price index (CPI) for October 2025. According to published data, inflationary processes in the country demonstrate a slowing trend in annual terms, despite seasonal price fluctuations for certain groups of goods.
General Price Dynamics
In October 2025, the consolidated consumer price index amounted to 100.6% (an increase of 0.6% for the month). Since the beginning of the year (compared to December 2024), prices have increased by 5.7%. In annual terms (October 2025 to October 2024), the inflation rate was 7.8%.
For comparison, in the same period last year, inflationary pressure was higher: in October 2024, the monthly increase was 0.8%, and the annual inflation level reached 110.2%. Thus, a noticeable decrease in price growth rates is observed compared to last year.
Without taking into account seasonal changes in prices for fruit and vegetable products, the short-term consolidated CPI for the month amounted to 100.5%.
Food Sector: Seasonal Factors and Meat Price Dynamics
The most significant impact on inflation in October was exerted by the food sector. The price index for food products for the month amounted to 100.9%.
Among the main food products, multidirectional dynamics are observed:
- Meat products: Despite the stability of prices for imported frozen beef, the cost of domestic meat continued to rise. Beef with bones increased in price by 1.7%, boneless beef – by 1.6%, lamb – by 1.6%. On average, the price per kilogram of beef in the republic increased by 2 000–3 000 soums.
- Eggs and dairy products: Prices for eggs increased by 4.1%, milk increased in price by an average of 1.2%.
- Fat and oil products: Vegetable oils increased in price by an average of 0.8%.
At the same time, a decrease in prices was recorded for a number of socially significant goods. Rice and rice bran fell in price by 2.5%, granulated sugar – by 3.1%, poultry meat (except drumsticks) – by 1.0%.
The most tangible seasonal fluctuations affected fruit and vegetable products. Due to the seasonal factor, prices for tomatoes (+61.0%) and cucumbers (+58.2%), as well as eggplants (+11.3%) and bell peppers (+10.6%) rose sharply. At the same time, prices for lemons (–9.9%), carrots (–5.7%), cabbage (–5.4%), onions (–5.3%) and potatoes (–2.0%) decreased significantly.
Non-Food Products and Energy Resources
The price index for non-food products in October amounted to 100.4%.
In the fuel segment, the following changes were observed:
- Gasoline: On average, gasoline prices increased by 1.5% for the month. The cost of the AI-80 brand increased by 1.6%, AI-95 – by 0.6%, and high-octane AI-100 – by 2.3%. Prices for AI-92 remained at the level of the previous month, and AI-98 slightly decreased in price (–0.5%). AI-92 gasoline remains the most popular, occupying 54.2% of the sales market.
- Gas: Propane increased in price by 3.3% (the upper price limit reached 6 900 soums per liter). Methane prices remained almost unchanged (+0.1%).
An increase in prices for medicines (+0.4%) and materials for housing repair (+0.5%) was also noted.
Services Sector
Tariffs for paid services to the population increased by 0.3% for the month. The main contribution to this growth was made by changes in the utilities and transport spheres.
Since October 2025, tariffs for household waste removal, as well as for hot water supply and heating services, have been increased in certain regions.
In the transport sector, an increase in fares for suburban trains in Tashkent and the Tashkent region was recorded. In general, throughout the country, suburban railway transport services increased in price by 2.5%. Fares in city buses became more expensive by an average of 1.7%, in intercity buses – by 1.1%.
A positive factor was the decrease in the cost of air travel in the observed directions by 3.5%, which is partly associated with the strengthening of the national currency exchange rate.
In the education sector, an increase in prices for non-state sector services was recorded: tutoring increased in price by 1.1%, language courses – by 0.5%, private kindergarten services – by 0.4%.
Regional Context
The national average level of annual inflation was exceeded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as in Bukhara, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya and Fergana regions.
Contribution to General Inflation
Following the results of 10 months of 2025 (January-October), the main contribution to the growth of the consolidated price index was made by changes in tariffs in the housing services sector (gas, electricity, water), price increases for food, transport services and healthcare. In total, these factors provided about 84.8% of the total inflation growth.
