At the twelfth plenary session of the Senate, the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026” was considered.
It was noted that the purpose of the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026” is the regulation of relations associated with the formation and execution of the consolidated budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the next year.
Senators emphasized that in the State Budget for 2026, priority attention is paid to social goals, such as improving the standard of living of the population, enhancing the people’s well-being, developing the “green economy” and protecting the environment, expanding the coverage of citizens by the healthcare system, and ensuring their access to quality education.
Thus, almost 55% of State Budget expenditures, or 220.0 trillion soums, are allocated to the social sphere. In the structure of budget expenditures, 100 trillion soums are envisaged for education and 49 trillion soums for healthcare, which is 11.4% more compared to the current year.
According to the law, the inflation rate next year is projected at the level of 7%.
In 2026, State Budget expenditures will amount to 402.6 trillion soums, and revenues — 368.9 trillion soums. Revenues of state targeted funds are planned in the amount of 78.6 trillion soums, and expenditures — 74.4 trillion soums (excluding inter-budgetary transfers).
In particular, consolidated budget revenues for 2026 are set at 515.8 trillion soums, and expenditures at 567.6 trillion soums. At the same time, it is envisaged that the consolidated budget deficit in relation to GDP shall not exceed 3%.
During the discussion, senators paid special attention to increasing budget revenues and the targeted use of budget funds.
In their speeches, senators noted that in 2026, special attention should be paid to the fulfillment of tasks defined as priorities in the sphere of macroeconomic policy, solving social problems, improving district infrastructure, and implementing other important measures envisaged by state programs.
Following the discussion, the senators approved the Law.
