Uzbekistan’s GDP for 9 months of 2022 increased by 5.8%

According to the data of State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the growth rate of the gross domestic product of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 9 months of this year amounted to 105.8% (for the same period in 2021, 107.4%).

This year, industrial production, which increased by 5.3%, agriculture, forestry and fisheries by 3.6%, construction by 6.3%, and the service sector by 15.4% had an impact on GDP growth.

The permanent population of the Republic of Uzbekistan as of October 1, 2022 amounted to 35,821.0 thousand people.

Price indices (against December of the previous year) amounted to 108.1%.

The real growth rates of the total income of the population has reached 110.7%.

The index of the physical volume of industrial production amounted to 105.3%.

The growth rate of foreign trade turnover amounted to 127.2% (102.9% for the same period in 2021). At the same time, exports amounted to 135.7% (83.1%), imports 122.3% (119.3%).

It should also be noted that international financial institutions have revised their forecasts for increasing the GDP of Uzbekistan and other countries of Central Asia. Thus, ADB expects the growth of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023 by 5% instead of 4.5%. The EBRD increased the value by 1.5%, for the current and next year it amounted to 5.5 and 6.5%, respectively.
